First Post

Dear readers,
This is a shared blog between myself and David.  We are both professional LSAT instructors and are looking to talk about ways to improve your test performance.  While there are numerous techniques out there, like any other skill, doing well on the LSAT involves time, practice, and commitment to a good score.  While different people start at different places, the students who have improved significantly all have one thing in common - they have put the time in to do a quality job studying.

That said, the next LSAT is but a few days away.  A few days is not enough time to fully prepare for the next test, so what to do if you are short on time?

First, clear the week and put in as much time as you can up to do the day before the exam.  I don't recommend studying the day before, due the the importance of being sharp on test day.  Use that day before to relax and ease your stress.

Second, focus on what you can do in a week.  Clear up the simple errors you are making.  Target the type of questions that are giving you the most trouble.  Typically, it is easier to generate points out of sections where you are weak rather than sections where you are already strong.

Third, the Chinese have this great phrase, 加油, which literally means "refuel" but is an idiom for "suck it up and get it done."  So, do the hard work and maintain a positive attitude!  Do not let the exam intimidate you.  It is, at some point, just another test.

Fourth, and likely most important.  Have confidence.  It does not matter what your score is, but it is impossible to do anything without confidence.  Hence, you must believe that you will do well, no matter what.

That's the start of this blog for today.  Thank you for reading,

Don
